Hi all - anyone have the grey skin color on a lunar rock tundra or Tacoma? I’m trying to figure out if it would look weird to try and get them to match or if I should go green or black on my lunar rock tundra. Here are some photos that they sent me. Wondering if anyone has seen in person and has thoughts.

Hey everyone, this has been an awesome thread. I've read through all 81 pages twice so far and loving all of the little golden nuggets of info, ideas and tips. My Chubby build is set to be ready for install, mid October.

Regarding the bed platform...(Trying to figure out mattress options)

How reasonable is it to leave the bed slide extended at all times? Any issues or concerns with doing so? Will I still be able to open/close the pop top without too much struggle? I believe they are installing 65 lb struts on mine, if that helps.

I have a gen 3 tundra and am about to pull the trigger on my order and keep going back and forth between the chubby and the normal.

Pro of chubby:
- More space

Con:
- Wind noise
- It’s my daily driver so is it going to make it more cumbersome
- I can’t have barn doors that latch to the side walls so I can transport lumber or have stuff stick out the tailgate for short trips (obviously not using my truck as a full time work truck, but I do like to do the occasional Home Depot run)

If I go normal I would do barn doors so I can do an occasional transport with stuff over the tailgate. I guess I am wondering if more is always more? I am going to have me and my wife and my two dogs in the camper. I also have two little kids that will be sleeping occasionally with us but will move them to a tent. Weekend warrior family. Not going to do a crazy build. More of a utilitarian one. I want to be able to be inside in the mornings to make coffee. In the evenings to sleep. But mostly we hang out outside - moving from an airstream that we basically use as a tent to ovrlnd for this reason. In bad weather we will all hang inside. Otherwise outside the camper.

Hit me with your thoughts

I have the Toyo OC AT3 as well in a C rating, good tires so far. I think an E rated tire is a bit overkill on these lighter camper setups for how much harsher they ride and the MPG penalty. My rig weighs about 5100-5300 lbs depending on what I'm doing. 1st gen Taco
Good to see another person with these tires. In the C rating, do they have the thicker sidewalls that stick out like the E rated or are they flat like the P-rated? Really hope they're the more aggressive versions. What tire size are you running?

I have a 4" mattress from Roam Rest in my camper - I just stack the mattress halves on top of each other and then pull the bed platform back 6"-8" - top closes fine that way. It also leaves room up front where we store our down comforter and pillows.

I'm sure you can leave the bed slide all the way out, I know many people do, but you may not have to depending on how thick of a mattress you go with.

And my experience opening the camper with the bed slide all the way out is that it's tough, definitely wouldn't want to do it that way every time I open the camper.

Thanks for the insight. I'll look into Roam Rest. Originally, I was planning on using my 4" Exped MegaMat Duo but I can't seem to find a second one that will fill the sleeping dimensions of the Ovrlnd properly.

I have a trifold 4' inch mattress and do the same thing. I have room for my bedding in the front as well. Top closes just fine

I run a 31.5 on 15 inch rim. The smaller rim gives a decent amount of sidewall and when I air down to 25 you really feel the difference.
I guess they bulge out as much as my last rig that ran e rated
