Packing Heat...who does it?

Washington DC has some of the strictest gun control laws in America.. they also have the highest murder rate with guns in the Nation.

As for Canada, any nation that makes is a crime to defend human life with lethal force is not worth living in IMHO.

You may defend yourself in Canada with lethal force. My wife, who just finished her 4 year criminology degree, clarified this for me. However, if it does resort down to that, it will take a long time to sort through all the paper work and garbage like that...

Thanks for the clarification, and yes that is very leftist ideology.

I live in Arizona and pack (CCW) when ever my eyes are open and I am not strictly prohibited from carrying-please read into this "my name is not victim, defend to the end" just my two cents.....

It depends....

I would rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.

Depending on the country and who I have with me, I may or may not carry. If I am in an area with big cats or bears, I feel safer carrying. If I have people I love with me, I feel safer carrying. If I am hiking alone, I usually do not carry, as I am a second degree black belt and also faster on my feet than most. I have a CHL and barely ever use it. It all gets back to the above statement. I do this with the understanding that situations are ALWAYS resolved better without the use of deadly force.

and one more thing....

if I had to live somewhere where it was a crime to defend my family with lethal force, I would consider my subsequent jail time a neccessary sacrifice to protect the lives of my loved ones. I would die for them, I would kill for them, and I would rot in a jail cell for them as well. Just my opinion. They come first, and if someone chooses to put me in that situation, I would make the same decision regardless of the laws of the land. If trouble finds me, I prefer to be prepared.... which lines up well with some common themes on this forum.

16 Years on ExPo. Whoa!!
A friend and I were up in the San Bernadino Mountains in a kind of a far off camp ground during the week. There was not a sole in that camp ground but us. Friday morning my friend went on a short hike taking his firearm with him.
about 30 min after he left a truck pulled up and set up a camp.
I waved they waved back. So two guys from the camp walk over and asked
if I had any ice to spare. I told them no because I have a ARB fridge.
They left. A few min. later they walk back and just grab the ARB from stand.
Hey. I attempt to stop them. I get clocked hard. As I get up they start walking back and the 1st guy say what else you have? (They did not know I
had someone with me) So the guy says to his friend. This will be just
like last 4th of July as he puts his fist into his open hand. Just then
my friend walks up and says whats the problem. The guy starts tords him
and my friend pulls his gun. They stop. He sends one to get the fridge while
we keep his friend. We get the fridge back. I pack up while he keeps guard
then we got the heck out of there and called the police when we got a cell phone signal. Come to find out they had escaped prison one for assault and the other for drugs. So I now carry. If my friend was not there I have no doubt that I would at least had my MMM kicked. I have to tell you it took me hours to calm down. Keep in mind we were always on paved roads. This was not that isolated.
I now have a sig 220 .45 and self defense training for the use of that hand gun.

Very good story, thanks for posting...

There are a thousand reasons I could cite for why I carry a firearm, but it is for the reasons I can't think of that I bring it with me.

I don't like being caught off guard. I was a fighter for a decade, but I can be beaten all too easily when caught unawares. I'm not in the shape I once was in either. Hence, I carry. Evens the odds a bit!
