Peak Expedition Trailers

Hi All. We have been building some basic expedition jeep trailers for some time now but decided to import something a little larger. Just finally fought our way through the CA motor vehicle hurdles. Interested to see what people think of them. They seems very well made. They start with a heavy gage aluminum frame weldment and put that on a welded aluminum frame with aluminum floor then drop it on a galvanized frame.

For me, the galley slide out has way too many corners and surfaces. Cleaning it will be a **********.

I used to design restaurant kitchens and we always made counter surfaces at ONE level and continuous. Sinks were welded in, never screwed down and we siliconed joints between counter sections.

The diamond stitched vinyl interior is very cool and will be a breeze to wipe down.

The seams look to be urethane caulked. The white looks good new in the kitchen but I think it will show scratches. Something like a smooth linex would be cool and tough.

There is a slideout for an ice chest style fridge freezer and a spot where a dometic mini fridge can sit in the kitchen. The venting and wiring is installed for a dometic ac unit as well. The current three trailers we have we have don't have the fridge or ac but if they were say under $30k. I feel like they would be a good unit at a good price.

Shocks? And what sort of odd axle is that? Was this actually engineered or just cobbled together with random parts?

Twin shocks. Standard independent swing arm like you see on most offroad trailers. Identical to the other suspension kit you can buy. Can't think of their name, not timbren. Looks just like smittybuilt and others. Electric brakes. Parking brake. Limit chains. All pretty high quality stuff.

Ah…I was trying to match that to Timbrens wares. No match for me there. Not sure if the shocks will help much. Seems like a great test for a GoPro with and without shocks.

I have a small trailer with rtt mounted up high. It was dangerous without shocks. Running shocks made it invincible, until I blew a shock and flopped the trailer off a rock. My vote is they are definitely a plus :)

Finally found it. Cruisemaster suspension was the one I was thinking of. It's on a ton of brands. These trailers are similar to those and a lot of Australian models.

That cruisemaster hitch looks really good but it's pretty identical to the ebay version. I wonder if their supplier makes both?

Without nitpicking (I'll leave that to the experienced trailer owners), I think it looks good. Would be interested in seeing and reading about it in more detail, so hoping you will post more here and on the website.
