Pendleton Yakima Camp blankets

I am 61 now, finally picked up a 2nd Pendleton Yakima Camp blanket, both queen size, 90x90. I got a deal on both. 1st one I bought when a store called Galyan's was going out of business in 04'. Picked it up for $129+ tax. Second one was only $40 off but still better than full price.

In case anyone doesn't know, they are uber warm and rugged, don't melt like some do if you sit too close to the campfire and will still keep you warm even when wet. But also, if you have super sensitive skin, it may irritate you.

I have sensitive skin and just wear a thin long sleeve t-shirt and bottoms. I can't express how warm these things are. I have always had to flip it off before morning, regardless of how cold it got.

I have also realized that I no longer like or use a sleeping bag. Maybe to unzip and use as a blanket but that's it. I sleep much better without the restriction of a sleeping bag.

So now I have my own & wife has hers. Hers is maroon mine is gray. I am quite sure it will be handed down to our kids and so on & so forth. Lol, or they will sell them ? Lol

That is all, carry on ! Lol

Yep. Wanted a Pendleton for some time. Prices are high but definitely a quality item to last a lifetime. Soon as I free up some cash from other ventures. Maybe I will buy a few pair less of Darn Tough socks over the next year or two.

Trying to focus on quality, not quantity. And this is right up that alley.

I remember Galyan's! They got bought-out by D i c k ' s Sporting Goods and went to crap. Pendleton is good stuff! I use a wool blanket(not as nice as Pendleton, but decent) and a Rumpl synthetic.

^^^ On an international forum of grown-ups (gotta be able to drive, right?) we can not even refer to a Fortune 500-listed, narional sporting goods chain store by its proper name, which is actually the first name of a real person without the filter blotting it out? I had to look up Galyans and find out "Richard's" bought them out. Mods, what are we, 7 years old?

I have a queen sized classic striped Pendelton that my parents had before I was born, so it’s at least 73 years old and still in great shape, and it wasn’t just stored away. It’s been used every winter. Pretty sure it will last longer than me!

The Actual Pendelton Store/woolen mills in Pendelton, Oregon is also worth seeing. Still expensive, but they have a pretty large factory second, section. I was there a few days ago.

The blankets will last forever. As well as having quite the following. I got myself one, when I got my medical license. And a second after my last promotion.

They may also still do tours.

" Hudson Bay point blankets, known for their iconic stripes and history in Canadian trade, are generally coarser and heavier than Pendleton blankets, while Pendleton blankets offer a tighter weave, finished edges, and a softer hand, with some claiming Pendleton blankets age better"

Google Ai, although I would agree
