...and Roverphiles of Expedition Portal!

My son, also an avid off-roader, turned me on to this site! Very Cool!

My daily driver is a '91 RRC - Great Divide Edition with mild modifications; 4.2L, Safari Gard Bumper w/skid plate & Hella 1000s, Snorkel, 2" suspension lift w/OME coils/shocks, 2" body lift, 285/75/16 AT, diff guards, blah, blah, blah. I bought this car new and it's still going strong with 250K miles.

A few years back we sold our '99 4.6 HSE for our '04 Range Rover (wife's car). The '04 is a Mack Daddy vehicle, but my RRC remains my urban assault ride! I love this car and look forward to sharing off-road adventures with like-minded Roverphiles (and others).

Welcome. This is a great site. You are now obligated to get a subscription to Overland Journal :). It is a great read at camp during long expeditions.

Very NICE!! Welcome aboard.

As far as 2 dr models, there are a few around, but I think all were built before Range Rover were officially imported into the US.

Welcome and I love you RR.

There is a all stock great divide running around here I am trying to find sitting to leave a note on sometime. When my local dealer first got their franchise, at the Harrisburg auto show they had one of the original event trucks on display. We never got 2 door Range Rovers, or Discoverys. The ones you see here are imports. Scott 97XD

Thanks guys! I'm sure I'll learn something new/useful everytime I visit this site!

Beowolf - Roger That, on the subscription!

4xLand - I had the usual head-gasket issues with the 3.9 at 135K. So I did what any respectable husband would do - I convinced my wife that it wouldn't be worth the effort to JUST repair the head-gasket/heads. NOOOOOOOO, we needed to upgrade to a 4.2. Kept my 'Man Card' in good standing.

I didn't really fool her, though! Before the RRC, we had a '75 FJ40. Did the usual 350 conversion after I convinced her we needed more power to climb those long grades (plus other mondo power mods). THAT was a way-too-fun car!! Eventually became too rough of a ride for an old man like me, so after 5years of trekking all over CA/AZ/UT in it, we sold it and got the Great Divide.

Peace - Out!

Thanks, Arthur!

4-wheeling in Australia is high on my 'bucket list' (things to do before I kick-the-bucket)! Judging by your pics, it looks like you Aussies know how to 4-wheel in pretty much any kind of terrain!

One of these days...

Never live your dreams for to far in the future, remember that we do not have a "contract" with the Big Boss in the sky.
Australia is huge and very safe place to travel.
I recommend for any Land Rover enthusiast to visit or become a member of AURLO ( http://www.aulro.com/) it is a great forum and fantastic bunch of peoples.
Cheers
