Let me know if you are still looking for CJ5 rims. When I bought my late '40s Bantam T3-C trailer, the PO had a CJ5 and put matching rims on the Bantam. I've since swapped out to 16" combat rims. There's probably a pic of the CJ5 rims on my trailer thread here on ExPo. These should bolt right up for you...

Could someone tell me why some pics are sideways. How annoying.

What do you use to upload the pics?

Its an iProduct issue. While your device will auto correct the orientation in the viewer, the file itself is still sideways. As far as I know, there is still no app for that.

Is that why you have to log in to see certain pics? The pics I upload from Photobucket are always visible, whether I'm signed in or not.

That is different. Linking an image from the web will load the image that is hosted on a remote server. Where as attached images are on the local (expo) server, and you need a login to see them.

Thanks for the offer. I want to try and stay with the original rims. I understand that if you have the rims that need tubes, you can epoxy paint the inside of the rims and they are good to without tubeless tires.
What are combat rims? Sounds cool!

What do you use to upload the pics?

Have just been using my iphone and magic fairy dust!. It has only happened here on this site. Got the lid on, fenders on, now its just a few more bolts and its done, well maybe.

Pretty much done. Got the inside of the tub Line x'ed. Decided to use Dri Dek on the inside bottom, that way if anything leaks, etc, the cargo won't be sitting in it.
A pile of all the original bolts and such that came apart. Thats the part I did not budget very well. Getting all new hardware was a little costly. But its all new now.
And the last pic is a tribute to some of the friends that helped me along the way. And there were some humans also!

Finally got around to getting the rims done. Wanted to get rid of the tubes, so went and got a can of spray epoxy, cleaned up the rims, got the rivets down to bare metal, and sprayed it on. Also did the rivets on the back side of the rim. Used engine ceramic enamel paint, seems to hold up a lot better.

New tires and its been about 3 weeks and they are still holding air.

Nice! The two-tone paint gives the stock wheels some class. Looks sweet.

Got it all done. Have used it quite a lot. Tows great. 65mph. No problem. Actually just started about a 3k trip with it. Waterproof.

The Lid on Your M416

Hi: I have gone through reading the entire posts on your build and I'm very impressed. I love the way your trailer came out. At the present time I'm considering doing something like yours on my M416B1. It's in the rough right now and that's how I want it for now till I do all the mods I want to make for it. Wanted to ask you....who made the lid for your trailer? Did you do that yourself of someone else did it for you? I lack in these type of skills and not very good at welding, I'm afraid. I'm in the process of looking for someone to make mine but I love the way you made yours.

Where are you located at? I live in Southern California but at the present time my trailer is in Florida at my parents house. Since I'm just looking for ideas, was wondering if you could help me out with your own ideas. I found this company in Salinas, CA that works on existing M416's. They make a very nice lid for the M416 but quite costly. $1395.00USD to be exact. The name of the company is RBX Rockbox Off Road Adventure Trailers. Their website is...http://www.rockboxoffroad.com. I would have to haul my trailer all the way from Florida to California to get it made and installed. I'm seriously rethinking that strategy as its more than 3 thousand miles on a one way trip. I don't think it would make any sense in doing that.

So, if you would please get back to me on this matter, I would truly appreciate that very kindly.
