I'd go for the winch first! Nice looking combo BTW. You may remember me (Eric) from Expo East. I restored an old Sovereign right before I fell in love with vans. I have not needed a locker anywhere I've been, but I've used my winch for several things, but never to tow myself out. Winches are great for so much more. Pulling OTHER people, or your own trailer, or trees, or rocks, or storage buildings around on your property. Yep, just last weekend.

Hi Eric I remember you from expo, good to know this is your handle. You make a valid point about the winch.

2002 Pleasure Way Traverse. Stock vehicle. No 4x4, no lift, stock tires, gas 5.4 V8 but it has taken me and my boys to wonderful places. I just don't usually have the van in the shot. On long trips, driving conservatively like I do, I get 17-18 MPG.

Great looking van CSG! Don't worry about the stuff you don't have, just enjoy the stuff you do. You've got air conditioning, which just about nobody else does!

But I've never used the A/C once on the road. Need a genset or power. While my EU2000 would run it (and the microwave) it's another piece of gear to deal with. The best I've got is a portable 12v Fantastic fan. Mostly, I avoid traveling when it's too cold or too hot. Weather permitting, I'm heading out towards Great Basin and on to Zion this week.

The freight truck showed up at 1:30. Sitting on the tires at 6:30. Now if I could just get that freakin brake line clip in!

A couple of my favorite pics of my van. Bought it stock, installed a 2.2L Subaru Motor, found it still underpowered, I have now installed a 3.3L H-6 Subaru Motor and I love it!

Sometimes you need a little POWAH!

Pulled boat out of shed like nothing, even though corroded calipers had brakes locked on hard! Once out of shed, I pulled the calipers for rebuild!
