"The little 2x4 Traverse with Michelin LT tires has taken me to many wonderful places at 15-18 MPG. "
Nice looking Van:)
I have the same one Gold? not sure what the color is called honestly. Its also 2002 e250 2wd. really love the layout always been a fan of the westy layout ,just not the german "engineering" I have been thinking about a 2 inch lift oner of these days..

I looked into a lot of stuff like 4x4 conversions, lifts, bigger tires, etc. After using the rig for a couple seasons, I realized that the KISS approach was best for me. I would gain nothing from a lift or bigger tires because of where I actually go. Besides, I've got a Lexus Land Cruiser if I want to get a bit more extreme.

I totally get that. However my propance tank is on the right hand side for some reason and hangs about 2 inchs lower than running boards and would like a little more clearance for forest service sites etc.

That's a great looking Traverse - love the color. I HATE the red of mine but I bought it used as a repo and the price overcame my objection to the color. Having lived its whole life outside, the fiberglass top has all sorts of paint issues with the clearcoat flaking off. To redo it front to back (including the cap over the drivers compartment) will cost $1000-1400. It's my only frustration with the rig. It's been a while since I checked but I recall the lowest clearance on these was 8". Removing the running boards would allow for some bigger tires as I recall but I've hit a lot of roads with the stock van and 225x75x16 Michelin LT MS tires. It's always a tradeout.

Ever thought of cutting a hole in your roof for a Fantastic Fan? I've recently talked to Phil at PW about it as it could improve ventilation so much but they aren't fond of the idea (which is why you don't the option from the factory). I know of someone who did it and posted about it online but I can't locate the discussion anymore.

Yes I want a fantastic fan on the roof badly. My van lived indoors its whole life so paint and roof is like new.
I would love to see that install thread...
Also trying to sort out some roof racks so can carry a canoe once in awhile . I'm thinking the Thule tallest towers might fit at very back and just in front of pop top allowing me to pop my top with canoe off and not have to remove the racks.
I also installed led strip lights in all the storage cubbies with switches.
Also installed some wifi iPhone app controlled rgb+w led strip under the counter lip for mood lights.

I had to replace my toyo open country AT 225 as they were slashed in a freak occurrence so I am running Nokian Rotiva AT 's (snowflake rated) 245/75/16 's .
This gave me about .6 inch of lift lol.
