Here we go. This has been a fun thread. My first post. I built out a 2006 sprinter. Two photo albums. One of the build and one with some finished pics.

I tried to imbed a couple of more pics, but It appears I am incapable of such simple tasks.

You may not be able to embed images but you can certainly build out a Sprinter. I am really impressed ( envious ?) with the dinette set-up. Great work

Philos are those black things on hood vents too let heat out? If so looks very great!

Yes. Hood vents from fleabay. They were around $25-30, steel construction. I rounded the corners, drilled holes, painted them black, and then riveted through the fiberglass. Cutting holes in the hood was super easy, followed some reinforcement ribs on the underside for placement. Temps do stay lower, water hasn't been an issue after more than a year and many many trips through nasty elements.

Nice!

Bilstein... how do the Fox Compare? For street use would the Fox be worth the extra money?

In my case, having Jeremy do the full monty 4" system on the van, the difference in cost between the bilstein and fox was like $160 for the four of them. When I'm dropping $3500 on suspension, the difference between $3340 and $3500 is rather insignificant.

I would say the custom fox shocks from agile off-road are well worth the extra 10 cheeseburger meals.

But the biggest change in the suspension would have to be the steering shock/damper and the modified radius arms for more caster.

I had cooked up a 2.5" lift with off the shelf parts that rode excellent, but had a funky steering shake, no amount of tire/wheel balance, or alignment took care of it, I got fed up and changed all of it. Mo bettah.

I kind of prefer the 2.5" lift to the 4" lift, should have had him just do the damper kit, and the modified caster arms. I bet it woulda been great.

No complaints with the 4" kit, just a little taller than I'd personally like.

Unless plans change a lot, 2" would be the most I'd go. I'd like an inch, but don't feel it'd be worth the trouble.

The rear is finally starting to settle after new springs earlier this year. I'd like to see how much they settle before changing anything up front.
