Hats off man... That's just sweet.
Heck, you need that in many places in the states also!Very nice! Why did you feel the need to cage the back? Traveling to risky countries?
The mesh over the windows looks cool and the storage thing is great but how do you wash the inside of the windows?
Great question. This was something I realized the day I was welding them in. Unfortunately it was too late. I was under a time crunch and was not afforded to the flexibility to do it the right way. The right way would have been to weld a frame around each window then bolt the mesh to the frame. The reason I had to weld was that there wasn't enough meat around some of the windows to bolt them directly to the vehicle's frame. So far it hasn't been an issue. I'll use compressed air to blow them out occasionally.
I just got home last night from picking up my van. It's a 2011 E250 with the 5.4L. Lots of things in store for it!
That's exactly why we caged the back. Driving south of the border. However, the cage has proven to be a great way to increase storage space. A couple of bungie cords and S hooks allow us to hang stuff up everywhere.
A bit off topic fella's, sorry, but still van related and I'm really giddy about the project... our new $175 chicken coop/tool shed/greenhouse project! Almost pains me, she's straight as an arrow! Axles come off & landscape timbers bolt to the frame in the morning!
