We bought this 2006 Sprinter through Sportsmobile Texas in August, then had them add solar, a heater and a platform bed. I picked it up in Mid December and drove it from Austin to Olympia WA, first with two friends to Palm Springs, then with my wife to Olympia. The second part of the trip was mostly along US 1 and 101. The Sprinter drove great and handled some tough roads and conditions. It will stay in WA for the winter, then I'll drive it to Skagway and ferry into Juneau in the spring. Next summer we begin a year long adventure around north America.

Petrolburner, is that a wheelchair lift you're using as a moto ramp somehow? Just guessing and would love to know more and see pics. Also, I think most would love to see your 'or' setup (Z51 towing an A-liner).

The wheelchair lift is too slow and finicky to use for the bike. I plan to remove it and sell it if I can or just get crap metal value and try to sell the hydraulic power pack. There doesn't appear to be a market for the lifts once they're out of the van. I wanted a high roof, tall rear doors, power windows and locks, and cruise control. This had it all along with the 5.4l Triton V8 which fit my needs the best. I also need to remove the lift to put a hitch on. The weight loss should help too.

The Corvette is an excellent towing machine. 400 pounds of torque, manual 6 speed, excellent suspension with adjustable shocks, 13.4" brakes up front and 13" in the rear made it a much better tow rig than my lifted Toyota Tundra. The hitch is rated for 2000 pounts and the camper weighs about 1200 pounds loaded and I get 18-22 mpg towing across the Cascades. I haven't done a flat trip with it yet but I'd guess 22 mpg while towing is about as good as it will get.

My Uncle lives in Redmond and has a 2000 corvette painted the same color as yours. You can't miss it, it has a big eagle painted on it.

Ok. I do not want to see any flex or of road pictures of the vet and trailer. But since you are towing a trailer with a corvette, and every set-up should be built for a purpuse, how fast have you drive this set-up?😳

Picked up this 2003 7.3L a couple weeks ago but haven't gotten around to posting it. What a fking ordeal it was. It kept bogging out from crap gas. I had to drive it from the west coast of FL to the east coast of FL. After 3 hours and countless breakdowns I made it to lakeland before I pulled into napa for a fuel filter change. Ran like a champ for 10 minutes before it conked out again. Ended up ditching it on the side of the road and came back the next day to get it towed. An extra $500 for the tow to cocoa beach. There goes what I haggled off it. lol Getting shipped up to chris here soon for a rehaul.

Nice pickup hope things turn around for you and the van and you get it running good soon. I will be in the market for almost that exact same van here within the year.
