Pinion Seal Replacement

Well, better late than never I guess. I am just now getting to this today and the nut will not move by my strength alone. I left my impact at the shop, like an idiot. Guess this won't be happening, once again.
When I did mine my compressor was down so I used a large pipe wrench with the handle resting on the leaf spring to back up on the yoke and a socket/breaker bar with a long cheater bar on it
on my Dana 60 the wall of the socket needed to be turned down to fit in the yoke.

Thanks guys for the input. I just gave up pretty quickly on it and decided to tackle it next weekend with my impact wrench. I didn't have it after moving into our new house and I did not want to damage anything and do it half way. I thought with my 3/4" drive huge socket set, I'd be able to muscle it off....yeah right!! I hope torquing on it didn't do anything to the rearend! Seemed to drive ok after putting it back together with a new u-joint, thought the joint made some noise for the first few miles of driving and then went away? I have done quite a bit of wrenching, but I felt like a total rookie today. Took a shower and will start over with the right tools....dumba** me!

Also got my thermo-actuator replaced and my 4WD is now working!! :sombrero: The only things left as far as getting everything working is the A/C and doing the bodywork on the hood and roof. I ordered all the sanding rolls and bought a sander, so hopefully next weekend, after mom's day, I'll tackle it. I am doing the low-budget approach, so we'll see how it turns out. After that, the list will be edited as follows:

1)get A/C working
2) new BFG All-Terrains
3) Some sort of roof rack, may just go with Yakima set-up
4) new Hydroboost replacement

That's it for now
