Pop top for cargo van.

Where can I purchase a pop top camper style top like on the sports mobile vans to install myself. No one sells them? Please help. Just the camper top for a Ford extended van. 2wd but looks 4x4. I really want a top like that.

One way to get a pop top that you can instal yourself is to find a used Eurovan Weekender top. Not easy to find, but they do exist. Needs to be a Westfalia converted Weekender, not the Winnebago Camper.

Search Bettyford's threads on SMB for info about that install.

Junkyard.
I've seen a few pop up style tops, and many many fiberglass hard tops.
My local yard sells the permanent hard style ones for $65 plus tax... They'll even bring the forklift over after you've removed it from the donor vehicle.

I find it hard to believe there is no one that makes this kit. They want like 7gs to install the ones on sportsmobile and the other site. It's crazy

I bought the whole SMB for $1800 and swapped it over. Pictures on the SMB forum. Same user name.

Apparently you're new to this van addiction. $7k is not half of the price of many additions, like 4x4 for instance. You'll get there......:)

Colorado Camper van does DIY pop top kits

I thought that I had seen this somewhere, but can't seem to find it. Are they still selling them as DYI, and doe anyone know how much the top costs without the install?

I am trying to figure out what top I want on my high mileage van. I want the CC pop top, but they cost more than I paid for the van. The top is worth the price, but is the van worth the top?

A DIY pop-top install would be pretty sweet. I imagine it's still in the "more than I paid for my van" range. If someone find out what a DIY install is, please let us know.

Junkyard is on option, if you live near a junkyard...the closest one to me is a 4.5 hour round trip. I'm willing to go to one any where within a couple days of here, but only if I know I am going to drive away with a top. I could waste a lot of hours looking for tops in junkyards.
