My favorite trailer? Why that would have to be the race trailer I just bought. It is mostly going to be used for hauling dirt bikes (both nuggets are into racing now) and/or a dune buggy. However, I will outfit it with fold up bunks, heat and 110V power eventually (will move the kids into the trailer to get them out of the camper, and our hair). Went with TPD as its about the strongest trailer out there (metal framed and ribbed with composite skin). Not exactly capable in tight quarters and its heavy. I may lift it a bit for better clearance at the rear. The roof is strong enough to support lounging!

Looks great Rubiconfan. Love the matching wheels/tires...really pulls everything together. Sorry I just got your PM today...I had my welder friend cut my fenders in half and add a 4" strip to widen them. They also needed to be spread out wider so he changed the angle to fit the larger tires. I just used a variety of spacers to reinstall them on the existing mounts.

M101

Very nice package. I am a fan of M101's. I've built a few. The one on the internet advertised by the gentleman selling Canadian M101's used my friends pictures of the M101 I put together for him. Very nice job.

Here's some data about the monumental increase in power/mileage/trailer manuevering, when swapping 5.38 gears in the diffs

My hiwy mileage pulling trailer at 60 mph, (best at 2250rpm) steady 16.3mpg-

Wthout trailer over 19 mpg at 60mph-

Off road is like a dream, 4hi is great for cruising at 15mph-additional HP is substancial and climbing hills in 4lo, is like rock crawling in a pro "ROCK CLIMBER"--

I can't do rocks yet-too much snow West of me, but here's a quickee

Thats a 40° hill and If my wife was with me---there'd be a video-

The 5.38s keep the Auto tranny below 190° under load-

Great upgrade-

Very nice. I'm interested in what you used as the door in this picture. I'm planning another trailer build soon and any information would be appreciated.

Mike

Hi Mike,

I just framed the door and skinned it with aluminum just like the rest of the trailer. Installed the window and hinged it at the top with a "hurricane hinge" made for teardrop trailers. If you need any other info. just let me know.
