Autohome Columbus on M416

I got around to swapping the two tents this afternoon.
The Columbus is wider & longer then the other tent that flips open, so it takes up more room on the top of the trailer, I use to be able to fill my spare water & fuel cans stored in the front of the trailer with the other tent, I won't be able to now but nothing can be taken out of the trailer unless its through the tailgate now. Better security with the Columbus tent mounted. In the driveway the ladder fits perfectly sure it will be different in the dirt of a campsite though.

Sweet indeed, regearing!

Really nice setup you have there, enjoy each and every minute with it!

Perhaps, others will do well to learn of your positive results re-gearing for tire size.

:sombrero: Sorry fellowtraveler, I just saw the post-

My '08 JKUR came with 4.10 gears and Auto tranny, very lousy combo when you increase tire size, so

I went to YUKON 5.38 gears and it's like a brand new jeep with an increase of 3 mpg (grandma driving), addition of approximately 40 APPLIED HP and a dream off-road, especially pulling the trailer !!

One breakin run at 60 mph--for 60 miles

Quigley and a Trailer in AZ - Its All Good

I'm finally test driving the new trailer. This is a fiberglass utility body for a mini-truck. It's at least 30 yrs old. I bought it for a few hundred bucks of Craigslist. Five months, and a lot help from good friends, it's coming to life.

The passenger side has started to become the kitchen. Up top is the kid's loft, and the driver's side will be for gear. The battery box sits up front. Currently it's being assembled on the bench.

For the most part, I've been buying parts on eBay, CL and the forumns. Trying to avoid paying retail for anything. Although I did splurge and get some necessary body work and descent paint. If she seems to do what we need for camping, I'll likely get a better axles, with brakes, shocks and matching hubs.

At some point I may create a build-page, but I honestly wasnt sure it would ever get done. Now maybe I'll start taking pics of the details. Its actually quite elaborate.

The good news is that she so far has no negligible effect on my already unenviable 12mpg.

I flat out love Sportsmobiles, but for half the price I have a Quigley, thats fully wheelchair accessible, and a trailer that allows us to sleep four (big people in foldout van bed) plus two dogs. Me be living large. :costumed-smiley-007

Tailer finished now for the extras

I finished my trailer rebuild and now I am getting ideas of what add ons and supplies to build into the trailer camp kitchen, RTT, water tank, Fuel cans, a cver and rack above for items, a powered cooler. 12 volt battery to charge from the truck and solar panel,

Things are coming along but taking time.
Here are some pictures of my rig and trailer so far.

Just here...
The Trailer I use on the Rubicon
picture.php

Just flipped through this entire thread backwards trying to get to this original post. Maybe I shouldve started at the front... Oh well, not necessarily a waste of time. One thing is for sure, the Jeepster wins this thread of rig and trailer combinations. Can you post pictures of the smaller trailer that you took through Rubi? A lot of these trailers are way too long for the tighter trails around here on the right coast. Something smaller like what this looks like would be perfect.

I would also be interested in seeing some high resolution general pics of this Jeepster!
