Very nice Build with great ideas!
I did not realize the start was a M101A2.
That is my favorite too!

All in and loaded with water and full propane it weights just under 2400lbs, yes a bit heavy but it does include the kitchen sink...

Pictures of the build can be seen here:

Wow; love how it turned out, and the pics during the process, too. This causes me to rethink a trailer project based on the larger military trailers.

Just picked up this little gem a couple weeks ago. Just starting to get it torn down to modify it to fit my needs. Build thread coming as soon as I have some things to show.

It's a start!

We've been offroad a bit, but this is our first camper. I'm already looking at ways to get bigger tires on it, and I definitely know it can be done ;)

Here's a pic of my 76 Baja bug with my 67 Military trailer doing wood duty a few years back..
Bug has a 2.0l T-IV bus engine with a Thing transaxle and front suspension lift.
though unfortunately the trailer is 4sale now :(

That's pretty cool... I can't say I've ever been a BIG Baja follower, I do tip my hat to the ones that are set up nice. The picts. posted kinda make me laugh a bit though... while I'm sure they pull trailers I've got to admit I don't ever recall seeing any... and I live in the Desert S.W. ! Then there's the dichotomy of the BAJA in the SNOW... not that a VW has never seen snow... Germany and all... and you're just about as far away from Baja as one can be in the continuous 48. I like the worklight in the door... having the weight of the trailer probably helps with traction.
Unique set up... :clapsmile
