:sombrero: Yea, we have wonderful weather here in Ca. but

Usually, we have to drive from 2 to 6 hours on the FREEWAY, to get to "fun" areas

I'm not about to do that "topless" and my off-road enjoyment, isn't dependent on the jeep being open, I just take off my "T" tops

Hey guys.... posted here a long while back and can't find the post... so here are some new pics anyhow and some updates.

My ZJ started out like this bone stock.... coming down Lombard St on a road trip in 2003.

Now it looks like this with 5.5" lift and 33" Baja MTZ's

And I pulled out my AWD 249 t-case and built a nice fresh 231 t-case with the Tera 2Low kit and Advance Adaptors SYE.

Hope to put the new case in today... can't wait to try it out!!

:ylsmoke:

Future plans:
HP30 with a Detroit or ARB Locker
D44 from an XJ, disc brake conversion, and a locker or spool... can't decide

^if you want any kind of streetablility, Id go locker instead of spool...Unless you just dont care!! ha. Plus a spool will suck the life out of your rear tires. Nice ZJ though!

Yeah, I don't daily drive this one anymore. It gets temp permits for trips and other than that, it just looks good in my backyard! I have another ZJ that I use for daily driving.

So... with that in mind, I'm still thinking of spool vs. locker. It's only based on cost and cost alone. ARB's are great but getting out of hand for cost... won't be long before they're over $1k. Detroit locker is my 2nd choice to get one in the front and the rear. Only reason to consider spooling the rear was for cost. This thing gets maybe 3000-4000kms per year MAX on it... so if the tires last me 3 years, I'm good with that.

Interesting how many of you warm-weather boys have hard tops. I know why the cold weather guys have hard tops, but California?
I'm just the opposite of the cold weather guys. Winter around 70' - 80' here so I run the soft top. Summer around 110' - 120' so the hard top goes on

Nice jeep, I love my spool. For a rig that is primarily offroad, they are great.
