2.5L :eek: 5 speed, 4.10 gears, 31x10.50 Wild Country MT's, 3.25" lift, front locker. More of a toy right now. An underpowered toy!

I've done more wheelin' than overlanding, but I'd like to get into more of this expedition style traveling. I'm unsure how to accomplish this with such a small vehicle, though. My Tahoe is better suited for this, but it is too large for most of the trails and areas where we live. The Jeep fits perfectly. However, if I bring my wife and two kids along, there is very little room for gear left in the TJ!!

Man, I'm jealous of you guys who are out playing in several feet of snow, the trails that do stay open here in the winter have maybe 10-16 inches.
 
35's are not going to make noise right away. And for most mall crawlers it never will. The factory spare tire mount will work just fine. If you start running off road aggressively it's going to have issues after awhile. Don't fall into the trap of you must buy this thing and that gizmos to put lift or tires on your jeep.
