Actually, no...all that's needed is the front housing with the nipple, it can be changed in place relatively easily. All the CDL internals are still there, it just needs the nipple to actuate it...
Yep, we were there on Tuesday.
Did snow summit have lots of snow? I used to ride there all the time. Now i am in the WA state.

You have to be careful because the preload on the bearings is set up by the shim that is behind front out put housing, front bearing. It is best to remove the unit for the front out put swap.

That appears to be a very nice truck! It is nice to see a virtually unmolested D1, and it is white too boot! My advice, take care of it and keep it looking close to stock as possible. It will be worth more in the future, I would think. You will at least turn more heads.
