Land Rover Ideas for Grenadiers

Kelty has made a couple of versions of that concept for a while now

I tend to either move campsites or use my vehicle most days so I don't have a use for something that requires partially breaking camp to use the vehicle. Closest I've come is a tarp with one side anchored to the roof rack and the other to something in camp (tree/tent/Clam screen room shelter)

I sleep in the back of mine so the thought of having "something" back there in the event of poor weather is appealing.

This photo taken from the other side... In November I had the Grenadier in the Moab area and did the Gemini Bridges trail but to get back down to the river I took the Shafer Switchbacks and Potash Road instead of Long Canyon so I don't have a photo of the Grenadier under the Long Canyon rock so this photo of my Jeep taken a few years ago will have to do for now...

This rock feature is about halfway down Long Canyon. Long Canyon Road runs from the high ground west/northwest of Moab town down to the Colorado River and it's a fun way to end the day and head back to town.

A fun, scenic, relatively easy day out from Moab is to start on the Gemini Bridges Trail, make a side trip to the bottom of the Bull Canyon Trail, take a short hike from the end of the Bull Canyon trail to see the Gemini natural bridges from the bottom, then go back the way you came out of Bull Canyon and pick up the Gemini Bridges trail again to the Bridges; take a walk across the natural bridges and enjoy the view, then head back to town down Long Canyon and back up to Moab along the Colorado river and if you have time make a stop to see the dinosaur tracks and petroglyphs on Potash Road at the Poison Spider trailhead.
