I finally got it home and took pics. By the way other than pic 2 & 3 I took these at 11:00pm, The days are pretty long here in the summer. Well its actually light 24 hours a day.

This is basically how it looks.

The back wall was the roof. Notice the ribs.

Well, whenever you're ready to replace those, consider the 33 x 10.5" tires. Those would be sweet on there with stock rims.

1992 Montero

After about a year of deliberating, craigslist searching, and lurking on this site, I decided to make an impulse buy. I love my Scout, but my wife can't drive it, the rear seat access isn't ideal for a carseat, and it's not the best vehicle for Tahoe day trips in the winter.

Stats:

• 1992 Montero Gen 2
• 120k miles
• Stock drivetrain with open diffs
• 3.0 liter
• Standard transmission
• Torsion bars cranked
• 33 x 9.5 x 15 BFG AT pizza cutters on stock steel rims

Future Mods:

• SR rear locker or LSD
• Winch bumper and sliders
• Integrated Pop-up camper

If you're familiar with Starions you may want to consider swapping in a starquest turbo engine.:Wow1:

Then to now

After almost 2 years on a "value budget" I almost have the Monty exactly where I want it. Just a roof rack, snorkel, and some space saving mods left.
