Not without baffles and a better gas cap. also protection against evil tree limbs ripping the hose off.

Funny you post this because I just saw this yesterday in a catalog and was wondering how I could mount it to carry extra fuel

I was wondering if it had baffles in it, but I'm thinking for the price, it probably doesnt

I jerry rigged a 12 volt pump with on/off switch you find in landscaping shops for little fountains. Pump h2o out of 5 gallon containers, and a shower head. Traveled all over East and Southern Africa several times. A small wood pallet to stand on in the bush. Weight - minimal. Space used- minimal. Cost- minimal.

No need for baffles if the tank is full or empty. Just wait until you can transfer all of the fuel into the main tank.

Agreed on the cap.

The hose is on the bottom of the tank, how would a tree limb rip it off?

Putting 100+ pounds of mass on the roof rack doesn't strike me as a good off-roading accessory :)
How many pictures of expo truck have you seen with four or more nato cans on the roof rack?

I just did a trip to Death Valley with four cans on the roof rack and really didn't notice the weight.

I bought an open utility trailer with that tank installed up on the siderails by the PO. Fittings leaked, cap didn't seal properly, and a metal tank exposed to the elements and possible rollover. I removed it within the first month...just sayin'. :sombrero:

I like poly tanks...especially the Roto-Pax style.
