Mileage is up, at 2K RPM (61mph) on flat ground (same as every day to & from work) long stretch floating at 22-23mpg, at 55mph it floats at 25-27mpg - READINGS PER SCANGUAGE - and todays daily average was 19.2, so the thermostat made a difference. It isnt the 2.4mpg claimed on the website, but its 1-1.5, which is pretty sweet for a $40 part.

Boy those are very nice! Are they heated?

This is what you will end up with, all men will want to be you, and all women will want to be with you.

From what I understand the Vans didnt have the heat or outer signal available on the extending towing mirrors, but even though tte base is unique to the van the mirror head is supposedly the same as the F series pickup, so if you have the money you could get a set of heated F series mirrors with the turn signals and swap bases to fit on the van - expensive conversion but cool. I'm happy wth just the setup I have for now - who knows, if a cheap enough set pops up on ebay or craigslist when my other priorities are done I'd consider swapping up

EDIT: You will have to wait for Nely to post up any more info on this van - he has just taken delivery on it an hour ago and is the new owner. This will replace the van just totalled while parked in front of his house recently. I will post up the next project as soon as I take delivery.

Yep - its all t-low's fault. Being able to do what I want with less rig just made sense to me, and saving thousands in parts (SAS kit, axle, t-case, driveshafts, and mandatory rims & tires) and time not having to do the conversion sealed the deal. Plus the fact that the Astafari platform is available in AWD stock, I wont have the loss issues or fight with the insurance if something happens to the rig. TLows post in the "do i need 4wd" showing the capability of the setup was the point at which I started double thinking my choice. Diesel hitting $4.35 here (& gas still under $4) helped the decision a lot. Although it wont have the wow factor of a powerstroke 1 ton on 35's or 37's, it will be much more affordable and the money and time saved can be put toward actually using the vehicle for the intended purpose instead of just the build. I'll be out on the trails much quicker and the wife backed the reasoning.
That said, I found what appeared to be a clean 02 Astro AWD & after talking with the blatant liar confirming it was in excellent condition, drove out to Las Vegas yesterday to buy the van. When arriving I noticed many dents, scrapes and scratches on a vehicle that was said to be free of external damage, the interior looked like it was used as a welding booth, multiple burns in every upholstered surface, and the headliner looked like Swiss cheese. I was pissed and just walked away before the situation escalated into me needing legal assistance, long drive and much expenses for nothing because the guy was incapable of being honest. The search continues.
As a side note while passing through Barstow I confirmed that its still nicer than Hemet and I need to move as soon as our lease is up. I hate this town!

That stinks on the Vegas trip, people.... ugh. I'm glad the van went to a good home, and that you'll be getting the exact rig that you & the family need! I'm sure you'll keep us posted :)
