Hi I'm following your build closely since we have the same trailers and similar ideas, below is how I mounted my rock n roll hitch

Looking forward to dragging this through the woods of Vermont the first couple of days of the Rally...

See you there..:ylsmoke:

Lipek, that is exactly what I needed to see. This helps tremendously.

What time are you leaving next Thursday? Will be interesting to see how VT reacts to military/expo trailers rolling in.

As I'm doing the Workshop and Rally solo, I'm going to set up as a base camp and just run my Jeep through the woods.

I have plans for an Back Country Adventure weekend in BESF in November with a group of friends. My trusty co-pilot (Jack, my 15 year old son) and best helper for all things trailer related will be with me. That trip will be the test of setting up each evening and pack up each morning to get back on the trail.

Can't wait for next weekend!

I promised pictures. I know how people like pictures.

With the annex attached. If my tent was positioned differently on the rack, the annex would appear larger.

Looks good!

Thanks Shack! Been getting some good inspiration from what you have accomplished to date.

Maybe a trip to Colorado is in order to compare side by side. I've been looking for a good excuse to come visit Colorado.

Martin, tent and trailer are looking fantastic!! Did you get the tent taken care of? Let me know if there are any other questions.

Griffon is a good guy. Took care of me, all is right with the world.

Glad you like the tent and trailer, your exploits are great marketing materials.

How are the welds coming out? I was thinking of a similar welder but was told the 110v welder are too light.

Thanks

Jim

You have to set it on high, and work with the wire speed that comes with. Some welds are pretty, some aren't. I'm getting good penetration and have a grinder, so it is what it is.

I hit my last set of welds with a sledge hammer about 30 minutes afterwards. None of them cracked.

We, and by we I mean my friends who taught me to pick up my skirt and start welding, welded the rack together with a much better welder that uses gas. The welder I have is good for small jobs and learning. Larger jobs, I'd suck it up for a few extra months and get a better welder, or go to my buddies shop and use his.
