What parts are you planning on fabricating with your new mill?

Not sure but i think it`ll come in handy all the time. But for now i`ll use it mostly to notch tubing...

Really just checking that all is well. You seem to be very regular in your postings whether it be progress or tool acquisition/building.

Reconnected the chassis to the frame today. Front:

Then i started with the new seat mount. The seat is offset to the left now...

First i finished the seat mount today:

Then i started making some room for the mill. There`s a before and after pic each:

Then i cleaned all my new tools and stuff from the anti corrosion oil:

After that i picked up my "new" mill. Loading it on the trailer:

Very nice looking addition to your shop. I'm sure I'm not the only jealous one out here.

So, tell the truth here. Did you really start out to build a mini Hagglund, or was this all just a convenient excuse for buying or building yourself a shop full of tools? :bowdown:

Thanks. I really just wanted to build a Hägglund, but now i`m happy about my tools too...

Put the mill at it`s final place:

Added a light:

And built a dro for the x-axis:

Also got this angle block and machined the edges:

Started building the articulated joint today. I`m going to build this first before i place the radiator, exhaust and stuff...

The bearing for the left-right-motion will be made from a wheel hub. First i trimmed down the brake drum:

Was able to remove a broken bolt with my mill:

To determine the lenght of the joint i built a wooden template. Picture shows the max. 34° steering and the max. 34° vertical separation: .

Came up with the idea of a big thrust bearing for rotation between both car`s:

First i built some shelves for my steel, so i`m actually able to find what i`m looking for. Maybe...:

Then i continued working on the rotational joint. Both outer discs finished:

Well the old stuff is the best. I have found that the orange coloured antifreeze makes for leaks if you dont have a system that is compatible for it....:ylsmoke:
