I think that's the point people are forgetting here. The Powerwagon failed in certain areas, trying to beat it at it's own game, would also be a failure.
Payload and towing need to be better than a jeep. Super soft springs aren't needed if there are no hardcore trails for the truck to fit down. A winch behind the thin oem Dodge bumper is just plain silly. And there needs to be a camper rated version. 33's and 4.10's ain't good enough either. The PW used to come with 4.56's.
If I was Ford I'd skip the winch, Warn already has that covered, and a nice bumper.
I think using language like "failed" is indication of bias on your part.
The PW's winch is a huge deal, and still a unique offering in the truck market. The PW's thin bumper is hardly any different from what just about every other OEM offers...OEM's will always focus on crash test compliance and weight reduction as compared to the aftermarket bumpers.
The payload is limited, though still decent. The towing PW's towing capabilities are far superior to that of any midsized or even 1/2 ton truck....remember, we're dealing with a 3/4 ton chassis and powertrain here.
The PW is a factory-built hardcore offroader. The Tremor is a package intended to enhance the F-250's offroad abilities. There is a big difference in terms of intent and actual design. The main advantage of the Tremor is that it can be paired with different engine options and still retain decent tow/payload ratings. If someone wants a hardcore offroader 3/4 ton, the PW still has the definitive advantage IMO.
