Ram HDs with 37s. Do you carry a spare?

I blew out a 37 inch Toyo on the road and a plug kit wouldn’t fix it, it happens. It was a Toyo rt with 10k on it. A 1/2 bolt somehow got stuck through the edge of the tread on the side of the tire. I now just throw a spare tire in the bed and take it out when need be, or I throw it on my yakama mega warrior.

I need a swing out bumper that actually works.
Same here. I-5 southbound and hit a piece of metal in the road. The metal pierced the tire in the void. Toyo MT. Stuff happens but it gets expensive.

If the exhaust is the only thing keeping me from mounting a spare under the bed, then I'm dumping the exhuast out the side of the truck in front of the rear tires.

I had a MBRP Dual exit pipes for my 2004. I rigged up a way to have the spare standing in the bed along the side to minimize the real-estate it took up. Never bothered to figure out if it would fit by removing the exhaust.

Absolutely. You should always carry a spare but especially when it comes to larger uncommon sizes, chances of finding a 37 in your wheel size at the closest shop are slim. I have 40s but it fits under my topper upright against the back, still plenty of room for whatever else I need to haul in the bed

I saw this "Tiregate" on the back of a Dodge truck for sale locally.

Replace your tailgate with the Tiregate spare tire carrier.

Apparently Tiregate is now a part of Wilco Offroad.

While it's cool to look ''expo''. That's nearly useless. Put a couple eyelets on the floor of the bed and just ratchet strap the wheel down.

Sometimes I think all of this is just posing with a jerry can and a highlift jack.

Sometimes I think guys just post without reading a bit of what the rest of us on the thread have written. If I didn't need the huge secure bed space enclosed by my Lance cap, I'd have bought a Yukon. ;)

I carry mine like this for now. Simple e-track's bolted to the bed and then strap it in. 37x13.50x18 which easily fits under a bed cover.

If I have a bike or something else that needs to fit the length of the bed then I strap it up vertically to the side.

Tex, can you grab a picture of how you strap it in upright like that bottom picture? Although I'm tempted to just order the Titan mount that holds the tire like that and be done with it.

I think that Titan Mount will only work with certain size tires. If you have a CCSB I’m almost positive that the Titan tire holder will not work in the space as shown above on a 37”.

I’ve been wrong before though.

If you have a rambox truck, it could probably be modified to work as shown above since the wheel well won’t be in the way.

Sure thing, but it might be a few days from now. I am currently out of town and when I get back we will be covered up in move/relocate. I'll make a note to move it to that position when I get back to the truck and snap a few pics for you when I get a chance.

I run 35's on my PW and keep the stock (33") spare under the bed in stock position, just in case. I am not willing to give up any bed space for a spare, don't want a tire gate. A 33 mounted on the front axle will get me back to civilization if I can't patch the 35s in the boonies. I would never go off road without a usable spare, just too risky. And, yes, I carry tire patch, inflator/sealer, OBA. Be prepared.
