I'm sorry this shot is a little blurry. It was dark inside, but I didn't want to use a flash. A lap top on trips would sure help. So you don't have to wait until you get home to see what your pics really look like!

Giant Diesel motor that acted as the power plant in the Vulture Mine in Arizona

This place is pretty cool and run by a older couple who lives on the site to make sure people dont steal stuff from the abandoned town that looks like everyone just up and left back in the 40's. This is what happened because of World War II. The President had issued a stop mining order and many of the mines just closed up.

I thought it was funny/strange that there was big empty barrels of Cyanide that were used as trash cans

THe owners were telling my wife and I that this old Essay's building was built with ore rock they would pull from the ground that was considered useless at the time. But with the price of gold right now being at an all time high, there is enough gold in the rock that the building is worth a few million. He said this is one of the main things he has to watch for as visitors try and pry loose rocks to steal them for the gold content

Here are some pics I took of old ruins along the Goose Lake trail in northern NM. All ruins are within a mile or so of each other.

How come companies are allowed to leave there trash, equipment, infrastructure like that? Usually when a company close a plant they either have to sell or dimolish and pick up there trash. Sure make intersting sight seeing tho.
