I took these over the Holiday weekend. It was a bit busier than I would have liked but still a nice place if you have the patience to wait out the people for the shot

We visited the Cliff Palace and the Long House at Mesa Verde on the way home from Colorado. Well worth the side trip if your in the area.

Ah man... We got to the park after they had stopped the tours and left before the tours began. I got up before sunrise and got to the Spruce Tree house trail before they really opened (I think- gate was open so I went in...) and did the quick hike on Petroglyph point trail.

Once you see Mesa Verde, you will want to see Chaco Canyon, Gila Cliff Dwelling, Betakin, Hovenweap, Montezuma's Castle, and so many other pre-Columbian sites in the South West.

Lovely images of Mesa Verde.

Yep when I went to Ft. Lewis College about a 100 yrs ago I went once and instantly hooked ...... couldn't get enough! Finally the mountain trails and trout pulled me back from the abyss. Only after seen everything I could see and stood pass college. :D

I love Mesa Verde...Great shots but you have your descriptions flipped, the first one is Long House and the second is Cliff Palace. :)
