No snow camping for me, too cold. Plus it is close enough for a day trip:jumping: . We usually try to hit up deer valley as early in the year as possible, and that usually includes snow on the ground.

Snow Day San Diego Style...............

A simple day trip through the Laguna Mountains the day after a snow storm. Some awesome views looking down into the Anza~Borrego desert. Look close within the pic link at the early shots of the day and see the fire damage....white snow on black trees. Some houses being rebuilt along the way. Look for the pic in Julian of the old 1849 Miner (he seems to be holding his age well!) in Julian holding his wifes purse and helping her down the stairs.

Look close and see the snow level dropping down toward the desert below.

With sadness I report that there are locked gates everywhere! So there are more Scenic shots than Rig shots.

We dreamed about making a snowboard type contraption way back in the early 1970's while on our ski trips to Big Bear............we were heavy into surfing all our lives. We really felt that a snowboard was possible. But had no idea how to make it or who to have help us figure it out.


Dang it ...........I wish I was the one who finally made it!
