Truck looks good in the snow.

True. Just not sure which of the above if any are sold in the central american market. I would assume the 100 series is though, so he would be good for parts if that was the case.
Looks good! Your Dad's Taco's (assuming he still owns it?) looks great. I always liked that truck.
I didn't know CT4WD closed down.
I think our local groups could benefit from a offroad vehicle community that continued to push the tread lightly lightly point of view. Also, our trails continually need work and volunteer hours.
The lack of support for the 1st gen Tundra is what scares me off. I'm somewhat considering a 2nd Gen Cummins. That's going full -tard though. I'd like a rig where I can set-up storage and sleep space in the box for two people and easily tow a small enclosed trailer and tour riding locations in the states and western Canada on the cheap. If all goes well, maybe take it to CA.
Looking forward to what comes of the Tundra. Custom bumpers?

Thanks Quinn. Treading Lightly is at the forefront of our ideals for the new club.
Yup, not much support for the gen 1 Tundra but it's changing. Actually in the last 2-3 months I bet the number of Tundra builds on Expo alone has trippled. The platform is just getting to that age/price point where it has to become more popular. I'll be doing custom bumpers via Jason @ Cruisin' Offroad in BC.
His Dad's.
What's the ETA on the Kings and getting the gussets welded on?
I've been reading into a set of the Energy Suspension 9.9121 super low-pro 11/16 buttonhead bumpstops (about $25). They're an inch smaller than the stock ones so they're obviously super hard and don't have as much cushion to them. Luckily I crawl instead of driving like I wish I had LT, and I bet you do too. Upside is they give you about an inch of up-travel! Camburg claims their uniball upper arms add 4" of droop without the swaybar, and low-pro bumpstops add 1" of up-travel. Uniballs + smaller bumps = 5" more travel than stock, yeww!!
I'm curious about the need for limit straps so the uniball isn't the limiter.
Yah I don't know if that seems reasonable to me. I guess the Tundras might have a sightly longer upper arm than the early Tacomas, which might equate to more travel with just an UCA, but I recall the 3rd Gen 4Runners/1st Gen Taco's only gaining ~2" of travel overall with ext. travel coilovers and UCA's. I would assume the Tundra to be close to that in numbers but havent researched it enough yet.
Good call on the bumpstops. I ordered some of those wheelers "Superbumps" so I will be giving those a try. They are taller than the stock ones but WAY softer and should compress at a smoother rate. I still might run airbumps front and rear though after the rear suspension gets finished. I found a pretty awesome cantilever kit but I just don't know if I can run SUA and still retain the lift height I want and weight capacity.
My Fox's still haven't showed up yet. All the gussets are in my garage but at this point I'm in no rush to get the new suspension components in. I'll probably get the gussets done soon but I'm going to wait until spring and all the salt is gone from the roads before the blingy new foxes and uniball uppers go in... the bilsteins can hold me over until then!
I see where you're coming from, but the stock CVs sure arent gonna like 5" more travel...

Much less the needle bearing in the drivers side of the front carrier...
Plus, this gets me thinking how much travel the stock LBJs can handle?...Hmmmm...
True that. But the CV's can handle a full +3.5" long travel with only a lengthened shaft so I would assume the gains from the UCA and extended coilovers would not harm them too much. Factory LBJs are a different story though...
Does he have a build thread?
Yah it's my Dad's Tacoma. He does not partake in the forums to any degree but if you click on my flickr link on any of my photos and browse through there, you will see quite a few pics of his Tacoma. Lots of pics of him in Moab/Cali too when we were down there this past spring.
