I saw a snorkel the other day somewhere that replaced the passenger side cowl panel. While the design I saw wasn't that good looking, the idea is a good one. If you replaced that panel of the body with a short snorkel the location would be about perfect. Personally I don't think that the JK needs a snorkel up the the top of the windshield, but something in the middle, kinda like a short hummer snorkel, might be best.

All i really want is a visual reference for snorkel height, ie not guessing where the water level is in relation to the intake. Getting some nice dense outside air to the snorkel would be nice too.

I want to combine the idea of the J8 factory intake with the AEV hood. Instead of having the boxy J8 intake on the top of the hood, have a section of ducting that would connect the factory airbox to the 'vent' in the side of the AEV hood. How often do you get water above the top of the hood anyways! :) Have a drain in the bottom of the connector to deal with static raining water maybe?

I don't want to take this too far off topic, this thread is about River Raider and not other mfg. snorkels but, the red and black jeep in this thread has the snorkel i would want.

yup, thats the one.

Now just make the top look more normal :)

I like how it blends with the body....at least on the bottom half.

I would have to wonder if something like this could be made without needing to cut the body at all?

one of the problems I see with the River Raiders snorkle is you wouldnt be able to use most dual battery kits that are on the market.
