Roam About with "Big Hank"

Had to ride out to Gabbs in order to get gas for the bike the following day if I wanted to ride anymore. It's about a 25 mile ride out on paved and gravel roads. Once I was able to get some gas I took the dirt route getting back to the campground.

After spending two nights and days here I packed up and headed towards Caliente, Nevada to do some more exploring and riding. More to come!

You should check out Belmont NV. Lots of interesting towns and ghost towns in thar area. And don't for get about Carvers NV. Enjoy your adventures. Thanks for taking time out to keep us informed of your travels.

Whew.....keeping this thread updated is like work. Sorry for not posting in quite awhile but I've been off the grid with no internet connection for sometime now. After leaving the ghost towns near Berlin, Nevada I headed over towards Caliente, Nevada to do some more riding and exploring in the area. Hung out in Caliente for a few days and just rode. A big off road race was coming through town one day so I rode out to check out the racers.

Caliente is a cool little spot with a lot of history and off-road riding.

Some areas I checked out off-roading on the bike....

Working my way down to Flagstaff to attend the Overland Expo. Stand by.....more to come.

So after leaving the Caliente area I was headed to St. George via "dirt". After this.....finally rolled into St. George where I stayed at the Snow Canyon State Park. Great area, nice campground and some good hiking in the area. Was going to St. George to look around with a realtor for a possible relocation. Way too busy for me and although the surrounding area is great with lots of open space. St. George is just another city on an interstate in my humble opinion.

After leaving St. George I was headed to Toroweep on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Awesome camping spot. Probably one of the best I've ever stayed in...and I've stayed in a few over the years. About 80 miles of dirt to get to it but well worth it. I left St. George late and ended up setting up at the old school house enroute and then checked out all the old photos and history the following morning. The drive out late that evening was spectacular.

If you haven't been out here....go. It's a really special place. Starting Sept 1st permits will be required.
