Has anyone put rock sliders on their full size trucks?
I have one mounted and the second is about half welded.

i have a friend that put full length sliders of the same stock you used, the legs were a touch different on the mounting to the frame. This was on a 2001 ram 1500 shortbed ex cab. You can jack one side of the truck up by the sliders alone....

They have been abused and they hold up perfect! I plan to do this to my 2500.

Wow I am in the process of building the exact same thing. I thought I was the only one crazy enough to use a 2x6 piece of steel.

I am tucking mine up as close to the body as possible, I don't want them hanging below the frame.

IMO if you have a Dodge you need some sort of protection. The knuckleheads carried the door opening down around the bottom of the cab. If you even touch anything you may not be able to open the door. Don't laugh I have seen it happen.

Thanks guys. Something that is not in the pictures is the 1/2" x 1/2" x1/8" angle that runs the length of each slider on the undersides. When I built a set for my 2001 1500 shortbed I found I needed to do somthing to keep my highlift jack from slipping around. The angle is easy to weld in place and no one knows it is there untill I need it. Details on the build are as follows. 2" x 4" x 3/16 tube for the rail, 2" x 2" x1/4" for the cross members. 2" x 6" x 1/4 for the vertical stiffener and 2" x 2" x 1/4" ears. 1/2" grade 8 bolts for the lower mount points, single 3/8" grade 8 for the upper mount points. The bottom surface of the cross members are flush with the bottom of the frame and the outside edge of the rails are plumb with the truck sides and have 1/2" clearance between the cross members and the body seam. With the 1500 short bed I had no problem lifting the truck up on two tires from just about anywhere along the sliders. I hope I can duplicate that with the 5.9 up front... I finish them off with a strip of 4" wide no slip adhesive stair tread.
