Roof Mounted Solar Shower

Saw this posted over at IH8MUDs camping section in a shower thread.
Pretty cool idea, you pressurize it with a bike pump, and it holds five gallons.
I like the fact it is also built in the USA.

You can get these road showers at Rack Attack but at $300 that seems a bit much for 5 gallons of water. I was able to find a Nomad Power washer on sale a couple of years ago. It holds 4 gallons, runs off your 12v plug and works great all for about $99 dollars.


Best part of the Nomad, you dont have to worry if somebody comes up and drains it while you are out on your ride since there is no way to remove the hose or lock the handles.

Nice price but I don't like cleaning up with a bug sprayer.

That Road Shower looks great. I am shocked we haven't seen similar products before this.

Yep, very happy with my Aquacube.
Those who own one, make sure you put it on the charger at least once a month during non usage to keep the battery conditioned.

I have the road shower... Love it. It heats up well, I have access to water all day on the trail. Nice to hose off the dog/kid etc. Works well for dishes etc. it is pricey but it is convenient. If it is cold just boil water and add it to the tank.

Have been doing a similar thing for years. I've got a 20 l black plastic drum with a spigot. Drilled a hole in the lid, cut a valve and surrounding rubber from a bike inner tube and stuck it to the lid. Leave in the sun all day, attach compressor to valve and voila pressurised hot shower. Also have a similar thing with some PVC pipe
