Thinking about mounting one on the forward section of my SD rack anyone have any input as to how the 1200 Eezi Awn would fit or other brand for that matter.

Thanks

Fourtreks makes adaptors with the correct diameter for the SD rack. http://www.fourtreks.com/
I use them for the EE fuel can mount, hi-lift, and shovel on the SD rack on a P38. I had thought of using them for my roof top tent, currently use a set low profile pro-line bars which clamp onto the SD rack and are quick and easy to remove, (the bars that is, not the roof tent).

I guess you can never be totally happy.

Sure you can... Eezi Awn tent and Hannibal Awning:costumed-smiley-007

With such an investment it pays to do your homework. Dave what don't you like about the Hannibal? We have an Eezi Awn and love it but need to add another "residence" to the mix. Since we came upon the Eezi Awn somewhat unconventionally the homework was limited to: Yeah, sure, that will work..

That's true Keith but I bought the hannibal 'package' a little before the eezi's were available here. No use losing money selling it until I've completely worn it out.

To me the big difference is materials and construction quality. Tent fabrics are different as are the rain flys. I've had lot's of issues with threads parting on the screens and zippers.

Don't get me wrong, they are both good. But my perception is the eezi is a better tent for the money.

Thanks for that Dave!

I'll keep a watch on these things.. I was quite surprised to see that the Eezi was also quite a light tent when compared to some others. So far we've only had the Eezi out on trips a few times, but eveytime it opens for cleaning or for demonstration puposes in the drive it ends up staying that way for a while as my daughter finds it to be a perfect playhouse, Did I mention it was mounted to a M416? I suppose if it can stand up to kids, it'll stand up to most anything!:jumping:

Revor- Still withholding pics...

Alan Stuart- Did the rack have to be widened at all or does it sit nicely between the rails and then rest on the forward section.

Mark Stephens- How does the 1200 sleep three?

Well, while four-by waits for pics from Keith. I'm picking up this tan number this weekend and bringing it home for some overland treatment:

D,

Nice find, are you planning on moving your tent to the top of it or leaving it on top of the 90?

Give up some info.

Yup, I plan to move the tent to the trailer among other things. The plan is to clean it up, and make it a stealthy overland trailer if that makes any sense. But also keep it leveragable for trips to the dump, or beach.
