I am going to miss the EAS when it comes to towing. Thankfully the teardrop is only 2500 (and that's way over packing).
That being said I have not come to this decision lightly. I loved the EAS, but I don't love it enough for two new wiring looms, compressor... And then God knows what else. Many parts of my system are 8 years old and some have already been replaced once.

Thank you for the advice on the rim. I figured with the 36 offset it would be close. The ones I have specked are 45 I believe.

I hear you on EAS, my decision point was similar-it just wasn't going to be cost effective given where I was and what it would cost. In the end it removes a nice aspect of the truck but also one that is a variable that, once removed, leaves you with a simpler and more reliable platform. With simpler being rather relative given the amount of computers and moving parts we are talking about!

Are you doing the work yourself? AB OME +2 kit? You may find you want to get the 13.5mm spacers right off the back to level the cant out (p/n is: RNG500060).

I am doing the AB OME HD +2

I will be doing the work
I was just reading about the spacers. I will add name to the list. Did you just do them on the rear? I was only glancing at the thread. When you posted the I have read almost every post in your build thread. It almost makes me want to end this thread by saying just do what that guy did. Lol!

Only did the rears, found that even w/the winch and bumper the spacers were needed-apparently so did Land Rover since they are a stock component! Hit me up if you run into issues-not that I could do the wrenching but that's apparently rather straight forward, but rather with the flashing of the ecu and such. Good luck!

Cost is a part of it. I'm having some serious gremlin issues with the current system. Yellow faults, red faults, then no faults. FOR ME I just want a simpler system.

Just a quick update, I have installed the terrafirma HD kit from Lucky 8 and their 2inch spacer kit. I also put the 18 mm spacer on the back.
The truck sits about 1/2 inch higher then in off road mode. I just completed a 3k mike trip with a couple hundred on dirt roads and am happy with the swap. Ride feels the same and loaded down the rear do sent squat.

my only real complaints are that my OBD2 port is messing up at times and now she squeaks like crazy!!!

Will post pictures later.

Good stuff, you'll see over on my thread where we did a side by side to look at EAS vs coil.

BTW, if you are still thinking about 17's, I know some folks who are looking at BMW 17" wheels on the platform. Ping me if interested (or just cold call Sarek (http://www.sarekautowerke.com/) and tell them its all over the net!

Have a big trip to AR in a few weeks and now that house is done.?.it's mod time. Switch to rigid duĺlies on the roof. Used a dry box and wago connectors to keep it neat. Also mounted the voyager sliders and KO2s

Sorry for upside down pics working on it

Tires look good, thought you were switching out the wheels though?

The wheels are for the off road tear drop trailer. I wanted them to be interchangeable so I ordered rims that would fit rover. I am partial to the factory rims, although the new steel ones are tempting. That being said, I will post up a pic this weekend with one of the rims mounted on rover. Had to get some ugly, bare lugnuts for them to fit.

Ah, gotcha-b/c you know if you don't like the stock rims you have....someone would be happy to take them off your hands! :) (they are unequivocally my fav style including Compmotives and such).

well I just got back from Ozark NF "High water mark trail"...... at points the water was low and others it was just too deep. When I could I towed the teardrop along. Sadly the area had some serious straight line winds so we did a lot of turning around.

The point of this post is a review of the coil conversion. With rover loaded and the trailer hooked up I will say the back sagged maybe an inch or so? That being said the rear did scrape twice during the trip. I did 3 wheel it a couple of times but even the air would have done this. The trail got serious at points.

So was it worth it??? YES! and let me explain why. This setup let me worry about other problems.... like wheel hubs, alternator, the wife.... lol. You see I had no fear of random faults, blown bags, compressor issues, or blow air lines.
I do miss the auto level and I think it would have helped but I will take peace of mind over it. I will look into some stiffer rear springs. Im thinking tongue weight was maybe 300 lbs with another 200lbs in gear.

ok here are a few pics. I mainly took video.
