RRC buying advice

My main advice is not to buy a truck from Red Mountain Rovers. They're asking way too much for either of those trucks. Find a clean RRC from someone who has done all of the maintenance on the truck, not a dealer.

Depends. I only know of a couple of folks who have bought from them but they were good buys. You pay a premium to have someone else sort the truck, but with RRCs of this age it may well be worth it. I have had two, they can be a mess if not taken care of previously. I paid 5k for a 1992 back in 2005 that someone had bought for 3k and put over 5k into and it was still not done.

I'm seconding the be careful. there for a while they were selling hot defenders, and they're quite proud of worn out trucks. I've had a few friends get nailed by em

Try craigslist.
IIRC a friend linked me to diesel swb in ATL for 20 thousand the other day.

Try craigslist in LA. No rust, and probably outfitted by a rovertech at a shop, so it'll be cleanly done and correct.

my advice is don't buy the Rangie without first seeing it up close.

they literally rust from the inside out.

so remove the carpets in the foot wells and the rear cargo area to get an idea of what you are facing.

my 94 came from SoCal and even it had beginning floor rust.

Several of the Rover "parts guys" occasionally sell nice classics that they've picked up, or will at least be up front with you about the issues with any certain truck. Keep your eyes peeled on the other Rover forums.
