Very well done, Ryan!

I hope you don't mind if I steal some of your ideas... Kim and I have been talking about getting a setup very similar in application.

Can that magic arm be collapsed when not in use? i.e. folded up and pressed parallel against the floor hump? Pics of that would be awesome if you can!

Thanks Mike. I'm looking forward to putting it to good use.

Of course not! This is the main reason why I wanted to share my build in the first place. Most of my ideas were also derived from others on ExPo. :) Took me several years before I was ready to pay it forward.

Very well done, Ryan!

Very nice! I might have to steal this idea too. Seems much better than the Lowrance 540c or 840c's I've been looking to buy. It would also be nice to jump on some free WiFi while making pit stops off trail.

One question: Where did you mount the antenna?

Yes! There's 3 adjustment points, similar to a RAM ball mount configuration (2 pictured):

You can loosen the lower adjustment screw and pivot the arm to the floor no problem. If you don't zip-tie the cables to the arm, you can just remove the arm all together by loosening the bottom screw until the ball falls out completely.

Sure! I'll post a few pics in a a day or so. :)

Oh ya, good question. I forgot to mention the antenna.

The antenna is magnetic and waterproof. I stuck it on the hood and ran the wire through the firewall.

I took care of a few details/annoyances today needing some attention:

1st—new quick disconnect for the CB radio antenna. The $8 eBay model quickly oxidized in color and started corroding. Additionally, the inside spring had a tendency to go airborne every time I used it! I'm hoping the new Hustler QD2 quick disconnect will be better. It's stainless steel, doesn't use a spring, and is designed to prevent it from freezing-up in the elements.

2nd—replaced high heat electrical tape on rear connections with self-fusing silicone tape...

3rd—replaced cheap foam 'fingers' on the Tuffy security console cup holder with some custom thick rubber mouse pad fingers... :p

For those of you looking for more details about the modification needed to fit the Samsung NB30, here's a few of the photos I sent off to MINIMOUNT before the case was modified...

The location of the hinge ultimately rendered the top portion of the case useless. Eliminating the bottom tab allowed fitment of the bottom portion...

That's Valkyrie's truck. It's on 255/85r16 KM2s.

As an added note: I think the reason it looks so good (in addition to everything else about it... ha!) is that he's got 1" 4Crawler body lift on it. Add that to a moderate susp lift and the thing looks really aggressive and has--as far as I know--zero rubbing issues.

Prolly the direction I'll head with mine next tire purchase.

Actually just KM2 33x10.5x15's, and zero rubbing... with nothing cut. :bike_rider:

Is your rear bumper latch just a treaded rod with a handel, or some kind of spring loaded twist and lock mechanism it just looks simple and durable.

First off I would like to compliment you on your truck. Nice Taco:drool:. One question, how did you tighten the ball joint? I installed one just like yours but it seems to be too loose on the ball joint area. Thanks

Yes, the latch is a threaded rod w/handle. Not as functional as the clamp type, but more secure and durable IMO. I think it looks better too.
