Crikes! Your getting busy in there

Having led countless trail runs from 1 to 7 days, I can tell you one thing for sure. You don't want to get stuck on the logistics and details of trying to please every single and lose out on the reason you are there, to have fun too. While communications are a vital component to hosting a sucsessful run, you not being over burdend and stressed is more important. Don't forget to look out the window at the scenery once in a while :D

More often than not if you pay attention the the mile markers and exit numbers, truckers call in the location of radar traps and you'll know exactly where they are at.

when not in use, they can be unclipped and secured back to their holders. I don't have a holder for my CB mic, so I keep it tethered full-time. It doesn't seem to get in the way.

Too funny, I use them to keep my Trauma sheers hooked to my IOTV and Aid bag...lol

Haha ya. The ejection seat project is a little more difficult than I first anticipated. ;)

That is a lot of gear in there but you do have it all situated nicely. I'm afraid I would go into brain lock... or press the wrong button and end up ejecting the passenger. :Wow1:

Thanks, Dave. :bike_rider:

Thanks John! Me too. :)

I travel alot for work and if the traffic slows down on interstate I turn on my CB and truckers let me know if I need to exit or not.

CB is a good cheap item to have in your rig.

RSB your truck is amazing and I look forward to a few more AR trips before heading west.

Update!! :victory:

I'm proud to announce I've joined the team of a new small business partnered w/Expedition Portal called Central Overland Travels, an Arkansas-based trail guide service offering clients vehicle-dependent backcountry adventures into remote and scenic areas of the south-central United States.

The company seeks to engage the active and growing community of overland travel enthusiasts from throughout the central region and beyond through the use of regional overland events, including trips and rallies, and through daily interaction within a broad array of online media.

The goal of the team is to develop an increased knowledge base regarding the myriad facets of the overlanding industry—in addition to building stronger, relevant and productive relationships among overlanders—within the south-central region of the United States.

I'm really excited to be a part of this team and look forward to what's already on the schedule! :wings:

The problem w/using synthetic w/the ARB bumper is with the recessed location of the fairlead. With a typical hawse fairlead, you run the risk of cutting the line on the bumper. One angled pull is all it'd take.

To correct this problem, I took the frame I still had from the Warn fairlead, powdercoated it black and replaced the rollers w/Viking delrins. I also replaced the tube thimble on the synthetic line w/Viking's Safety Thimble with plastic isolator. I didn't want a hook dangling around on the bumper and I like how the design prevents improper rigging techniques.

While I was at it, I also re-powdercoated the beat-up skidplates, bumper and clevis'. I rattle-canned the winch control box mount a silver metallic color.

Getting everything all put back together took a lot more work than I thought it would! Here's how it turned out...

question about winching...

Ryan,

Do you find that you have to tighten your ARB bumper after off center winch pulls? Or did you customize the ARB attachments to the frame?

Nice rig by the way!

Hmmm, nope. I haven't had to (yet). The attachments weren't installed any differently either. Has this been happening on yours? First I've heard of this.
