Super cool build, I especially love your rear rack assembly. Excellent video work as well!
Thank you I appreciate that, here are some recent pics of the new paint job.
Got a lot of of work done last two weekends, I bought some Monstaliner and was ready to install it in the cab when I stumbled onto Lizardskin sound control, after a little research I decided to try it out so sprayed that on the interior of the hardtop and the inside of the cab. Ended up with about 50 mils thickness, took if for a short drive and was impressed with the lack of road noise.
Also had a friend of mine install the SWAG body mounts as I sold my Mig and am still on the fence about what to replace it with. He also made some slights mods to get them to play nice with the PSC sliders and Savvy under armor.
Gave the sound control one week to dry and rolled the inside of the cab in Monstaliner Light Quartz Grey and the half top and bed in Medium Quartz Grey. Maybe 5 minutes after I rolled the first coat on the cab and bed it started raining, could not believe it we have had no rain this winter and out of nowhere it rains for 30 minutes and then the sun comes out again , had me scrambling to make some kind of roof I could park the rig under. My garage is tiny but managed to pull stuff out of it and got the hard top in before it saw much rain, the bed however was soaked, tried to gently wipe up the beads but the paint was too tacky. Ended up letting it sun dry for 5 hours and applied the second coat and all was good. My cage is back from the powder coaters and going to get that back in this weekend.
Couple of updates, picked the cage up last weekend. Got it all mounted up and found some seals for where the cage passes through the cab, Robin at Lavender brothers had the idea of using a steering shaft seal from a 61 Karmann Ghia. We test fit it and it was a tight fit but that was fine with me, I found some online and got them yesterday. Pretty stoked how the whole thing turned out, I like the grey tub and top, the cage stands out more and was kind of lost before when everything was black.
Found these rain gutters online that have 3M adhesive and are moldable, my main complaint with the GR8TOPS was no rain gutters, every time it rained I would have water in the cab. Well not anymore with these and some fiberglass work around the doors its almost as good as the original hardtop.
Installing the Mastercraft seats this weekend and a new stereo, hoping to get out and do some exploring at least one day.
