if the temps are supposed to be cool, we'll likely tag a long. No A/C yet in the wee black beastie.

EDIT: oh, and consider us daytrippers. :)

Brian,

Out in the East County, out near Jacumba, the elevation is high enough that heat should not be a problem.

Here is a weather site I like to check when I am doing some Scenic Wonder Running.

http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/hdfForecast?query=jacumba+ca.&searchType=WEATHER

Jacumba is at the 2,800 foot elevation. And we will be going higher than that. I don't think heat will be a problem. Just sharing, and hoping you can join us!

Aloha! .....Mark

I will do my best to meet up with you all in the AM. Good times, for a good cause I will always adjust a schedule for. Thank for putting this together SWR!

Just a bump to the top.

This sounds like a fun run and the fund raising is for a very good cause, IMHO. Let's get fired up about this run! :wings:

Bump to the top and confirming we are going.

I added a post into the CA/NV forum, linking this post, since there might be more local traffic.

Hope to see a bunch of ExPo'ers there.

98% sure I am going, just need to make sure I cash my paycheck so I can fill'er up.

Looking forward to seeing some impressive views. :)

Yes I'm still planning on going.

Not sure at this time if I can camp overnight.

I'm interested. My sister lives in Alpine & I will be heading down there this weekend. I see you plan on heading out Sat morning, but how long, time & distance are you planning on. No camping for me.

We will be heading out near Jacumba.

We plan on being back to the La Posta Diner in time for dinner.

My surgery went well, but today the arm is on fire :smilies27

I won't be in any shape to drive by Saturday, so I'm on the sidelines for this one.

I'll be watching for the trip report, have fun Amigos! :costumed-smiley-007

Hope you do well Dave!

The link above is not showing the proper location so I have included this map below. The casino is just off the I~8. You will know you are getting close when you see the very large white wind turbines. Take the Crestwood Exit.

Woo its payday!!! :wings: I guess that means I will be able to make it :sombrero: See you all at 8:30 tomorrow!!!

Well, we are back from a great day wheeling. Thank SWR (Mark) for putting this together. It took us into places I have never been or even knew were there. Saw some great sites, did some nice wheeling but nothing extreme enough to cause damage or problems.

It was really nice to meet some new ExPo people and funny as it was, of the 5 rigs that came out, none were the same. It is really interesting to see how different rigs tackle different terrein.

As for the main reason the trip was put together, it looked like they had a great turnout at the resturant. Tons of people so hopefully it will help. The ExPo crew that showed up made a nice donation. I asked about how others who could not make it, could donate. They don't have any website or PayPal. They can take direct donations via a check.

Anyone who would like to send a check directly, can make it out to;

Campo Station Welfare & Rec (make check out to that)
32355 Old Hwy 80
Pine Valley, CA 91962

Agent Rosas family is directly linked to this account so fund go directly to them

Anyone who would like to PayPal funds, I would be happy to accept the funds and send a check to the above address. PM me for PayPal info. I guarantee any funds sent WILL go to the Rosas family.

As for pics, I have some really good ones but our hosting server is currently down. Hopefully in the morning it will be back up. I'll post them up when I can. Hopefully some of the others will get some posted soon.

Thanks again to everyone who showed up. It was a great time and I hope all of you had fun too. See ya soon.
