Yeah, Rob is awesome. I took the Discovery in to him to give it the once over and pick his brain a bit. Ended up shooting the bull long enough that Alexia had to drag me out of there.

There was a noticeable change after putting the lift on for sure but it wasn't that bad. The biggest thing I noticed was the slower return to center when turning but again, it didn't bother me. I was only planning on running it that way for a short period but I never got around to doing it. I have been driving it that way now since 2002 fwiw.

Yeah, still have the ConFer as the Cruiser has been sitting in storage without being driven since early October when I came out to CO and never returned! Haha I am hoping to drive it out from Michigan in the spring maybe so I have it to use and be able to work on upgrades.

Don,

I prefer to give the suspension a few miles to settle prior to installing the bushings, because if you do it prior to settling, the measurements may be different.

I have a press jig to do these, but I doubt that you want to come all the way to Flagstaff just for me to install them, and eat some elk steaks, and drink a few beers, and do some runs in Sedona......

Oh... I was going to try to buy it.

....MoGas....You have elk steak!? When's dinner?

-H-

I made a big vat of elk chili (Texas style, not hot, but flavorful) last night for a cook off. Won first place. There is still some left if you want to swing by.

Spotted today on Evergreen Parkway! Easy to spot with the hood blackout and taco wheels. I don't know if you saw me wave or not, was driving the Rover. Looking good! I think if you blacked out the chrome around the headlights and grill now it would look money.

More goodies!

The OME kit awaits a nice day and a helping hand for the install - in the mean time I have acquired a few more bits of kit:

One of the very best upgrades any rig can enjoy is improved lighting. This kit from Slee was uber simple to install and when they tell you that is improves the stock bulbs - believe them. What a difference! No dimming at idle and a huge relief to the stock wiring harness. To take full advantage of the newfound power, I installed Hella 80W 9006's and 100W 9005's If you can imagine having stadium lights bolted to your car - you will have a solid appreciation for what this kit can do for you:

After reading a lot about CB's I thought a new unit might be in order, so an Uniden 520XL, FireStick, FireStick coax, and tuning await the arrival of the ARB!

And per upcruiser's suggestion - I pulled off the front chrome trim along with the factory rack and rattle caned them black. Nice improvement! The front end bits need replacing as the chrome is pealing away in spots and the grill et al are pretty chewed up. Hopefully the ARB bumper will mask it. Thanks for the suggestion - I like it a lot:

And there's more - that poor ARB bumper is gonna have a lot to do when it shows up. I just got a SMOKING deal on a SuperWinch 9.5 Rock:

Nice! You are wasting no time! I don't know what it is about the chrome on the 80 series but I think once you dechrome them they look a bit more modern, especially on the red ones like mine.

That cheap little cb kicks but, I have the same one and when tuned properly it keeps up with the $500+ big dogs

I installed mine on the center console next to the e-break lever. The nice part about that cb is that its slim enough to let the e-break lever pass by

would you post a pic or two of this setup? My ashtray is too useful as a coin tray and I don't want to jetison it.
