Schutt Industries - Xventure Owners

Thanks.

I am severely disappointed in the build quality of our ZR2 Colorado. My original plans were to get a Dirtbox Canopy Camper or the Tune M1. But the people who have done such and actually go offroad with them have seen issues such as spot welds popping and sheetmetal ripping.

I actually paid a hefty sum for the extended GM warranty and after delivery and checking with dealer, was assured that it would void the warranty, any mods to the electrical system like a dc to dc charger, would void my warranty. So it looks like a truck but that's about it.

Not sure we will ever be able to afford a XVenture X2 but it seems like my only option to not void the warranty. They are without a doubt the most well built trailer and the only one I would consider. Maybe in a few years, if life stops getting in the way ! Lol

I've heard similar problems with toppers/campers on newer trucks and warranty problems. I think Chevy or Ford makes some supports to reinforce the bed rails to handle the weight of a camper???

Like your mention of wanting a XV2. We are considering selling ours (growing family). Located in western US.

I am not in the financial position to make it happen right now. But I wish I could. I think that a used one is the only way we will be able to get one. We are on the east coast.

New (used) XV-3 owner. My trailer is pretty well kitted out and it has plenty of miles on it. Couple of questions. Has anyone solved the issue of a good way to mount an awning where it isn’t too low? I could swear I saw an awning bracket that would extend higher than the top of the rack but can’t find it now.

Also, I’ve never had a hot water heater before and I don’t think the previous owner had any issues, but after reading through the forum I’m considering getting rid of it just to prevent an issue when I’m in the field? Has anyone had one for years without a problem?

Lastly, my Gladiator is dialed in, with a bed slide, fridge, water (14 gallons), and stove (partner steel two burner, same as the trailer) and I’m trying to figure out what to move over or remove. I’m moving my RTT over, but thinking I’ll leave the fridge in the truck. Stupid idea?
