Well as some of you know I was unfortunate in having to cancel my White Rim Trail visit when I was in Moab recently, but, I was able to visit some of the local trails and sights. I'm finally, though, taking a little break here at work to get some photos posted up from my trip. I was in Moab from Sunday July 15 til Thursday morning July 19. The afternoon my uncle and I got into Moab we went straight to the Brewery for some lunch/dinner and R&R. After staying there for a few hours and also meeting Derek and Dion who had traveled from Toronto to Moab, we had decided on a course of action. Derek and Dion's Jeep was having engine and tranny overheating issues and they had just recently lost the A/C clutch too which meant no A/C in the 110 degree heat. Thus we decided not to risk the White Rim Trail and having their Jeep get stranded out on the trail. So my uncle and I headed to the Motel 6 they were staying at and setup shop in our own room for 4 nights. Shortly after check-in we got our room organized and decided we would hit Long Valley Canyon Road as a little catapult into our weeks journey of trail riding and FUN.

Thanks Daniel and Frank...most of the pics are courtesy of my Uncle as I was driving most, if not all the time.

As for the write-up, it is slow going since I'm not sure how long you'll allow it to be, especially with pictures being put in along with it. But you should have a draft by weeks end if not sooner. Thanks for the publicity!!!

Well the previous pictures were of Sunday night and Monday. The following are what we did on Tuesday. We visited Arches National Park and visited the Delicate Arch (took the 3 mile round trip hike) and also visited Landscape, Pine Tree and Tunnel Arches. We also saw Balancing Rock(s) and other Arches throughout the Park too. Later that day we took Klondike Bluffs Trail as an evening/night ride...We had so much fun out on that trail that we didn't get back to the hotel til around midnight, and we had started the trail around 630-7pm.

How was the parking area and foot bridge to Delicate Arch? We were out there in October when the they had to close it all down because the bridge apparently washed out but I never could find any pictures of the damage when we got home.

Keep the pictures coming!

The bridge has been completely rebuilt, not sure if I got any pics of it but if I do I'll post them up...the trail was nice at about 8am, cloudy skies and a decent breeze.

The parking lot was crowded but when we got on the trail it seemed as everyone was leaving so it made for a nice hike up by ourselves, the arch itself wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be either so another pleasant surprise.

I'm trying to get some more pics uploaded today but we'll see what work has to say about that.

You're making me jealous, young man. I had that very trip in my sights (Moab + Arches) before the wife got pregnant this year. Kids are great and are a blessing all around, but pregnancy sucks. Ruins everything!

Sorry for never responding...

The drive was fine as far as I was concerned. Stayed the first night in Kansas City, MO with my cousin. 2nd night in Denver, and then on to Moab the next day.

Traffic was good, no real bad delays. There was one big construction section in Kansas I believe where it was down to one lane each way, that was a pain.

Looking forward to next year but it might be longer hour wise as I'll be pulling a trailer this time full of extra tires and gear. My local Jeep Club decided to plan a summer trip/caravan out to Moab after seeing some of my pictures from this past summer. Definitely going to be doing the White Rim Trail though...which reminds me, got to take care of that this week...
