Seat covers or covering for a 2002 4Runner

I've tried to tackle this question before and found myself running in circles. I would like to replace the worn leather in my 2002 4Runner, front only as the back doesn't get much use. For 275k the seat have held up remarkably. I know Catskinz make replacement units but was told they were for factory cloth not leather recover, not to mention about $1k just for the front. There were no canvas options with the quality of two manufactures that names escape me. Marathon something makes covers but more of a work truck feel to them. I've found a few pairs of sears in eBay time and again that range from $500-$800 which I don't consider too bad because they are nearly new. Ice thought about replacing the seats altogether with something like a Master Craft Baja RS but it takes from that stock feel I like.

I just put a set of seat covers in my Tacoma that I got from GT Covers... www.gtcovers.com They have all kinds of materials. I got the endura water proof covers to go on my cloth seats. I have to say, they are very well made and fitment is almost perfect. I would recommend them for sure.

I have the ones from Marathon Seat covers and am very happy with them. Unlike mine, they have plenty of normal colors.

Hmmm...I'm in a similar quandary on my 1999. My el-cheapo Wal Mart covers are wearing out and I want to spend the money on a decent set of fitted covers.

The GT covers are priced a little better but the Marathon covers offer more options, including multiple seat pockets and more camo patterns (I like the DCU camo pattern since that's what I wore when I was overseas.)

I love the digital camo covers but I am reallly not the biggest fan of my Taco seats after a few hours. I am debating on finding something else Toyota or maybe some Corbeaus or Mastercrafts.

iggee replacements

Iggee makes a set of synthetic leather covers for about $200. I've enjoyed my set and they've held up really well and don't look or fit like "bad" seat covers. I've had them for 2 years and no complaints.

Their website is horrible.

You know it's funny, while the 4Runner and the Tacoma are alike the seats are drastically different. I've had a 2002 Taco and 2006 Taco in the family the 06 has better seats but the 02 are awful. My 2002 4Runner on the other hand can be driven for no less than 15 hours........... I know quite of few taco guys that just hate their seats, I say look into other toyota seats b4 spending the serious coin on aftermarket.

The 01-04 Limited taco seats are nicely bolstered with lumbar support. That makes all the difference in those seats! Interested to see what you decide on pertaining to the 4runner seat covers. I was looking at some cordura options, my leather driver's seat is beginning to show some fatigue.
