My M725 camper project is taking way longer than it was supposed to, but slow progress is still better than no progress.
Well the m725 is up and running again after being parked for over a year. While it still has the original motor and tranny, it now has Chevy 1-ton dually axles with 4.10 gears with a detroit locker in the rear and a tru-trac up front. Disc brakes all around, Hydroboost and a tilt steering wheel.
While shopping for camper windows I found that the best rv windows are not imported into the US and when you find
them on EBAY the windows are $400. I'm unclear about the details but it seems that Seitz acrylic windows were originally made in Germany. Now the Dometic company is marketing the windows but again not in the US. I found a company in China that makes RV accessories including windows and doors. I believe they make the windows for Dometic but I cant be sure. From the pictures i've seen these are at least a very good copy of the Seitz top hinge window. So I made the minimum order of 10 windows:
2- 800mm x 500mm, 4- 700mm x 400mm, 4- 500mm x 350mm

Cutting holes in your baby always makes one a little nervous. I originally planned to use the two 800mm x 500mm windows but they were too big so I went with the 700mm x 400mm

After a little trail and error I swapped the L-brackets that came with the windows for some bigger C-brackets to help
tame the wavy M725 panels.(above)
I know, I know I really need a paint job or at least take care of the surface rust. Next week I hope. Here is the finished product of the first installation

I decided to replace the inner galvanized panel with 1/4 inch maple instead. The ambulance box on the M725 is insulated and the walls are 1-1/2" thick, on a warm sunny day it is no where near the 140 degrees I feel when i first get in our minivan, so it was important to me to install insulated windows with a built in shade to prevent the greenhouse effect as much as possible. I'm sure these windows will work just fine.

I will sell off the windows I don't use, I should have 7 windows to sell when i'm done.
Thanks
Cheers
