Shotts' Roklimo is getting restored...lowered...and I might want to trade some parts:

It's time...my son is done wheeling it. I need to rework this wonderful SUV into what we'll use it for in the future. And what's that? A Luxury Touring SUV with Medium-duty off-road capability. So here's what's up:

*The 315-75x16 BFG KM2's have to go. ANYBODY INTERESTED IN BUYING MINE? I'm going down to 285-75x16 BFG AT KO's. The KM2's are in excellent shape (maybe only half worn at best) but I am not willing to wait until they wear out before we restore my Cruiser. That could take years!

*The 863 rear springs have to go. I'm lowering the truck back to a 2" lift. Being out of the scene for years I'm not sure what current spring is best. The rate of the 863 has been perfect for the 3" lift and Slee Rear Bumper. Plus I need to make sure the new shorter spring will work with my L-shocks. I'm OK with a trade...863 vs somebody else's spring that is a match for me. If I can't trade I'll buy new.
TECH QUESTION: What spring should I use? 866?

*I need 4 new center caps for my rims. I guess the old ones get brittle and in time fall off. 3 of mine are gone. I would also guess that trades might not fair better as they too are as old. ??? Not sure on that.
TECH QUESTION: Are ALL old caps going to fall off or should I buy new ones?

*I also have two spare rebuilt-by-Toyota CV joints I think I'll sell. I just don't need them now that I'm not going to do wild stuff.

*I have a spare front driveshaft that was rebuilt. I should sell that.

There's more to do but not related to wheeling (new CD deck, etc). So that's about it. I'm sure I'll not like the new lowered look as well but with more power, quiet tires, and a restored truck...we should be better off (I hope I'm right).

Why not just go to a 315 all terrain and call it good? Is there going to be that big of a difference in dropping 1" of lift and going to 285s?

Fuel economy essentially. 33's take less to spin than 35's and lowering it down a tad will also probably reduce some aerodynamic drag when driving. Just a thought.

I bet that Slee rear bumper has added a ton of weight that you should probably cut down on...I have an OEM rear bumper in pristine condition that I'll swap for that iron wind dragger!

That's all I'd need to do IF we still planned on wheeling. But we don't. Running the extra lift and 35's costs you power, gas mileage, and more importantly if wears steering racks out like mad and causes extra early CV boot/grease replacement. We're ready for less maintenance and more power.

Good idea. And I have the correct springs for a 2" lift and stock bumper. LOL!

Zimm is sorta right... go get an LX470 put some tires on it and call it good. Sell / part the limo.

he wants MPG, more power, and luxury in a medium duty non wheeler...

that would be a post 2003 5 speed, ahc, lx470, not a 2001 4 speed, on aftermarket springs.

that wish list matches factory specs.

No guys...I want my truck. My truck, but redesigned for my new needs...no more wild wheeling...just light-duty work. And by reworking my 100 I gain all those things I now want back simply by downsizing it.
