Should I buy this bumper?

Well guys, my plan is to stay light weight, but have a clean & simple front bumper. I was just going to use my stock bumper, weld it to some real bumper mounts and then do a hidden winch behind it. I don't rock crawl, just trail run kind of and camp/fish. So I wanted a sleeper looking jeep so to speak lol.

Recently a Warrior P# 560 popped up for sale locally for $150 with a set of new hella 500 black magics included..

I know it uses the stock 3 bumper bolts which isn't sufficient..I already have a driver side bumper bracket, and inner steering brace. I'll be using another bumper bracket for the passenger side, and welding/bolt the bumper to those...doing that, the bumper will then use 9 bolts per side which will be plenty strong! Just like my original idea for using the stock bumper.
Should I get this bumper and use it vs a stock bumper?

My concerns are what thickness is this bumper? I thought it was 3/16th but was its only 1/8th? Is it worth it? As said, no rock crawling, just trail running & camping..If anything I'm thinking I could add some 1/8 or even 3/16 plate on the backside of the bumper to beef it up a little? Then again I remember reading the ARB bullbars are made from 1/8th as well?

As soon as I pick it up I'll be adding Drings that are welded through the bumper and possibly beefing it up a little. My main concerns are with the thickness of the bumper..going to go look at it and hopefully pick it up tonight.

if you are interested, I will try and get some close up pics of mine on my Jeep. Also, D-ring mounts built into the design as well.

Haha I love the ORFAB bumper, but as stated I was being a cheap as$ lol. And I don't want a big flashy bumper which is why I haven't bought yet. I love the dirtbound bumpers and Max is very local, but I just don't want that big of a bumper..I will be copying this here...

I planned to use my OEM bumper just like him originally, hiding a 10-12k winch behind it..sleeper, not to flashy, clean OEM look...but then the Warrior popped up for 150 bones with 2 hellas, I figured I may as well grab it and use it verus the stock bumper. Keeping the original plan of hiding the winch behind the Warrior. Look a little cleaner and add a little more protection without spending much money.
I will be selling the Hell500 black magics either way for around 40 bucks..so I'll only have about 100 bucks into the Warrior bumper..

What do you guys think of that? I'm comfortable with the fab work, and theres a guy local whos done a few things for me that builds tube chassis/cages and hes always there when I need him. I'm hiding my winch no matter what, want to keep the jeep clean & simple.

have you looked at the JCR bumpers? you can get the DIY bumpers where you weld it together and can add your own D-ring mounts on when you do it.

heres a guy who just welded one together

I did see that on jeepforum recently..
If you look at his mounts, I have that exact setup one the driverside. The plate holds 9 bolts..7 on the side and 2 on the bottom. And I have the front plate thats bolted through the front crossmember. Guess its called the "frame kit"? I'm gonna check out the warrior tonight and if I don't like the way it looks, it'll be stock bumper or JCR..which ever way I go, I'll be adding a winch like the like I posted.

I have had the JCR sliders on for 4 years and they have held up well with lots of abuse, pretty sure their other hard parts are made to be abused too.

JCR's stuff is great. I've bought little parts from them (nutstrips and my lightbar) and the quality is excellent.

Another option for a cheap(er) bumper would be this one, from Dirtbound Offroad. It looks pretty stout, holds a winch, and is pretty inexpensive compared to others. And its not terribly obtrusive.

Just my 2¢.

Ya I love maxes bumpers, but again it just sticks out to far!

I am the owner of a warrior 560 bumper though..I went and picked it up. Max, aka weddog, owner of dirtbound is beefing up my bumper..He's adding a few 1/8th" plates, adding Drings and boxing in the corners because the bumpers just 1/8'th formed plate, and its all hollow. So Max is gonna do a few little things. I'll still be able to hide my winch like I wanted.

I agree with warrpath4x4 JCR seems to have a decent product and price. 1/8 doesn't seem very good esp if your jeep is going to get abused. Not mention for the price you not even getting d-ring tabs or a front receiver, sounds kinda like a rip off. More for looks than function if you ask me.
