I spent quite a bit of time loking into camping chairs lasgt month... internet searching, forum boards and opinions, etc... then I went about MMM-testing many different options. I have reasonably wide shoulders and have 2 different types of chairs already that both bite me just inside the shoulders after a while. The Big Bubbas were comfy - and have the optional foot rest - but I ready more negative reviews than positive ones - mainly dealing with durability. After appropriate MMM-testing I finally boiled it doen to the
Kelty Basecamp Deluxe Lounge Chair and the
REI Recliner. Both have near identical frames and features, both fit the same, both have the identical adjustments with 3 position reclining feature - basically the same chair. The MMM-testing rated them identical.

The Kelty has better cup holders, as well as side pockets hanging off the seat fabric. The REI uses it's bag to create a lumbar support that actually works - though it is not too thick.
The Kelty won out on the features... but if it had a problem how long would it take for warranty repair or replacement? After much deliberation I went with the REI for no other reason that how well they back their products - and I live relatively close to their store.
